Artist Details

We See Foxes were formed in Liverpool 2003. Founding members Will Rowe (guitar; age 26, born London), Paul Fox (lead vocals, percussion; age 22, born Liverpool) and Adam Mokhtar (bass, backing vocals; age 23, born Liverpool) met through the Liverpool underground music scene and played with a succession of drummers until the band stabilised around the superb Alex Wright (drums; age 19, born Manchester) in October 2004. Over the past 12 months WSF has established itself as an outstanding live act through regular gigs in Liverpool (the Barfly, Zanzibar, Academy and other venues) and Manchester (Night �N� Day, Life Caf�). Their prolific song writing over this period has enabled them to hone their set, discarding redundant songs and radically rearrange old favorites; no filler is a rule.

Sonically, the band are driven by a hard, melodic, tight and funky rhythm section, a sulphurous, thick lead guitar wall that is both aggressive and psychedelic, and Paul Fox�s voice, strong, passionate, proud and reminiscent of early British beat band leaders and Little Richard. Structurally, their songs are slyly inventive, ranging from dreamy psychedelia to punk and back via swaggering seventies rock, sometimes within the same song. Extensive practice and playing has cut out the fat and the pretension. Visually, they pull rooms apart.

The single is now out and is selling quite well! Remember that it is available in Music Zone Liverpool, Manchester, Bolton, Bury, and London. Also, Rough Trade in London are stocking a limited supply and you can buy it online by following the link at the top. As before, it is priced at �1.97 and features the three tracks Open Your Eyes, Turn Around, and Just a Little Sip. The cd is also available at gigs, so feel free to ask for one there! We See Foxes have updated their gigs section, so make sure you check that out as October sees the band playing Liverpool, Manchester and London.
