Hailing from the proven rock talent pool of Stoke-on-Trent (previous exports including Motorheads Lemmy and Slash of Guns n Roses) LiViD is a four-piece classic rock band determined to bring good time RocknRoll back to the people.
Despairing at the lack of genuine rock acts emerging since as far back as GunsnRoses, LiViD have proclaimed themselves the next in line to carry the torch for RocknRoll. Considering that Rock history starts with Led Zeppelin and has had such legendary bands as Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe and GunsnRoses flying the flag for the subsequent generations, this band certainly has lofty aspirations.
Just as well these boys can deliver; boasting over 30 original tracks; more than 5 years of recording and gigging experience; a huge local fan-base; and even the ticket sales record for both signed and unsigned bands at Stokes premier venue, The Sugarmill. A venue that has played host to bands ranging from Therapy? to The Darkness during their ten years in business.
During their short career they have eclipsed the likes of Metallica-inspiring Diamondhead and The Darkness during two support slots, with Justin Hawkins proclaiming himself as a fan, describing frontman Psy Ward (21) and guitarist Steve Paris (23) as:
"The next Tyler and Perry (Aerosmith), a great band!"
Together with bass wielding Ency (23) and the precocious drumming talent of Phill Ward (19) they are ready to take the world by storm.
The current EP has already impressed Chris Blair, of Abbey Road studios, mastering engineer to the likes of Radiohead. Who, after hearing the mixes for the four-track demo When Im Steamin Windows said:
"I cant believe Im listening to an unsigned band, this is so professional"
And with a further 12 tracks penned since the demo, LiViD are proving themselves as a committed writing talent, hell bent on making it to the top.
